MEET OUR CREOLE KING

WALLACE DEVILLE

Wallace enjoyed cooking and he was always gleaming at his mother Audrey Skinner Deville chopping onions for his father Wallace Deville Sr’s barbecue sauce better known as TY’s Barbecue Stand. Wallace also made boudin where his father sold boudin on the strip better known as The Front on Dr. Carver and Pine street where there was a whole strip of clubs. Wallace and Carol enjoy cooking their authentic creole cuisine for large groups and family. It’s hard to find a tastier creole cuisine than one cooked by creole Wallace himself. Wallace later worked offshore as a chef for a few years. After retiring, he later met his wife Carol Deville then they opened up a game room and multiple businesses in the community where Wallace was better known as WD. Wallace and Carol were later reunited in marriage on 09/4/1993 and later relocated from Louisiana to Texas where Wallace cooked and served the homeless shelter and those in need for 9 years and they later opened Ladeville Cajun Creole Cafe in 2012

MEET OUR CREOLE QUEEN

CAROL DEVILLE

In her early years , Carol Deville learned and loved to cook. She became an entrepreneur due to everything that was instilled into her life by her grandmother Joyce Watson Frank who was an entrepreneur in Ville Platte , LA. At grandma Joyce’s house , we lived from the garden to get onion , green onion, bell peppers, peppers, tomatoes, okra, corn. We didn’t realized we were eating the best. Grandma Joyce owned the La petite café in the early 60s on Dr. Carver Street. It was a quaint place where I remember sitting in those vintage barstools and those red and white retro looking booths. It was always full of people in the line for the good ole food from the soul.

I can also remember flipping burgers , peeling peas , cutting okra , and shucking corn on the cob as a teenager. Then she later opened up a larger café and renamed it King of Creole. La petite building is still standing on the corner of Dr. Carver street after 60 years. I also inherited cooking from my father Charles Lee Thomas and my grandfather Edward Thomas who worked as a chef at the Evangeline Club in Ville
Platte, LA. She began to fulfill her dreams by opening up her first business Carol’s Unique Christian Boutique and then later opened up a club Carol’s Dollhouse on Dr. Carver. At 25 I met the love of my life Wallace Deville. Then we opened up many other businesses together in the community.

The 99 cent , the game room, a boutique, and the bridal store being the first black women to purchase a building on main street which was Anointing New Beginnings. Carol and Wallace were reunited in Marriage on 09/4/1993 and relocated from Louisiana to Texas on our 5th year anniversary where we got a calling to serve the CUP under the late Bishop Vernice Seraile and Jerry Seraile. By cooking our creole cuisines for family and friends we realized that they were not many authentic creole restaurants. In 2012, God revealed a little quaint building in a little historical town old town springs.

Our dream of opening our own authentic cajun creole café. Where we bring Louisiana to Texas to enjoy southern hospitality. We were a family oriented business where many families came to enjoy our authentic creole cuisine where our menu was 10 authentic dishes and a mini retail cajun creole store. Our children were raised working in the café as waiters , waitresses, greeters , cashier, and wash dishes. They gleamed from us like we did with our parents. Our character Isaiah loved to greet our customers , Naomi was a waitress and washed dishes , and last but not least Kierra was all around. She knew the business from the front door.

MEET OUR CREOLE CHARACTER

ISAIAH DEVILLE

Meet the character our son Isaiah , who is vision impaired. Let’s make him seen all over the world! 11 1/2 years ago God blessed us with a precious gift. We named him Isaiah Jeremiah Deville who is 12 years old. As we are preparing for our product we kept trying to figure out a character. In December of 2018, Isaiah walked into the house excited and bubbly showing off his project he had done at school. It was an elf with a picture of his head on it. Immediately the holy spirit spoke to me, Carol Deville , and said there goes you’re character. What you were looking for is already in your house. Then it dawned on me that I called Isaiah a character all the time. I immediately took a picture of his project which was a picture of him , sent it to the graphic designer then the fun began. He did our mascot logo design. Isaiah is definitely a
character and he brings life to our home.
